Dr. Jay Purvin

With 36 years of experience in the East Meadow area, Dr. Purvin is an experienced and highly skilled foot and ankle doctor who offers comprehensive, high quality gentle care in his state-of-the-art practice.

Dr. Jay Purvin completed his DPM and BS in Medical Sciences and BA in Biology at California College of Podiatric Medicine (CCPM). He is a member of New York State Podiatrist Society and the Nassau County Podiatrist Society.

Dr. Purvin and his staff are proud of the warm patient-friendly environment they have created and of the lifelong relationships they have built with multi-generational families in the area. Dr. Purvin welcomes patients of all ages and looks forward to meeting you and offering you the professional, caring foot and ankle care that you deserve.

Dr. Purvin always wanted to be a Doctor, always evaluating people's gait and foot function. He is the former Oral Examiner for the board certification test given in Chicago annually.

Dr. Purvin is the only podiatrist in the town of Hempstead. He has extensive experience with geriatric patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Dr. Purvin is an expert in lower extremity bio-mechanics and in the treatment of functional foot problems with special orthotic supports/inserts.

Dr. Samantha Ratner

Dr. Samantha Ratner is a Board-Certified Wound Care Specialist and Hyperbaric Supervising Physician at The Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing at Mercy Hospital since 2016. She has received her DPM from The Dr. William School College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago and her B.A. in Theater Arts at Brandeis University in Massachusetts.

Dr. Samantha Ratner has been an associate at Dr. Jay Purvin's office since 2023. Her office hours on Wednesdays and does house calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10a-2pm.
